An editorial on the CBS Sunday Morning Show yesterday was very apropos regarding Whitney Houston’s recent passing. She was someone’s Daughter. She was somebody’s Mother…. The public will want to know why she died. But does it really matter now? Is it really anyone’s business but her family’s? Her life from an early age brought with it the weight of the enormous expectations that come to those possessing the kind of special talent she had. She lived in a fishbowl. And perhaps the burden of celebrity was too much for her. Michael Jackson. Judy Garland. Charlie Parker. Jim Morrison. Freddie Prinze. And so many others dying before their time…. For those who aspire to become famous, be careful what you wish for. May the Lord comfort those Miss Houston left behind, especially her daughter.
